As President of the Plainfield Board of Education, Hanae has demonstrated unwavering commitment to advancing initiatives that directly benefit our students and their families. Her leadership style is grounded in collaboration, believing that working together towards shared goals is the key to achieving excellence in education.

Hanae’s role has been pivotal in advocating for and supporting the development of strong partnerships with local and national organizations, including Kean University, Felician University, and the Girl Scouts of America. These collaborations have opened doors to enhanced educational opportunities and resources for our students. Her dedication extends to championing important advancements in school counseling and social work, with a focus on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

One of Hanae’s notable achievements is her recent appointment to the National School Board Association's Council of Urban Board of Education Steering Committee, a historic first for Plainfield. This role allows her to advocate on a national stage, bringing increased attention and support to the needs of our district.

Hanae is deeply committed to ensuring that students’ voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes. She believes that accountability, stakeholder engagement, and a high standard of academic excellence are crucial for a well-rounded educational system that truly supports every student.

Outside of her board duties, Hanae is actively involved in community initiatives that reinforce the value of education and collaborative support. Together with her family, she works to foster a village mentality, emphasizing the importance of mutual support and lifelong learning. Hanae is also a devoted mother of three who enjoys spending quality time with her family, watching movies, listening to music, and engaging in advocacy work.
